Why 4x4trucktents.com?

As you can see on our top 5 list, 4x4trucktents.com is our favorite website for truck tents. We decided to send them an email and tell them about it and we are now featured as a RSS feed on their website!

Now you might be wondering, why 4x4trucktents.com? This is a fairly new site in the industry; however, they have done an incredible job with marketing and are now on the front page of all major search engines. They are now a major competitor with all the other truck tent sites out there.

Here is a small list of some of the reasons that they are our #1 choice.

1. They have the lowest price on the Internet on the Truck Tent III
2. They offer free shipping
3. They have a customer support line
4. They have a secured website
5. You do not pay taxes unless you are in the state of Utah
6. They ship their products out the following day
7. User friendly website

Now there are lots of good truck tent sites outs there; however, if you would like our advice, stick with 4x4trucktents.com.

Free Backpack?

Word on the street is that Napier is now offering a new backpack with their tents. Some vender's seem to be offering it for free while others are charging for it. I have only found it on a few websites but it looks like a promising product (plus it helps to get a free backpack while purchasing a truck tent). Keep your eye out for it and if you do decided to purchase it, tell us about it.

Sportz or Adventure?

By far the two most competitive truck tents out on the market right now are the Enel Adventure Truck Tent and the Napier Sportz Truck Tent. Both are high quality products and provide for an excellent camping experience. But what are the differences? Why would one be better than the other?

The Enel Adventure truck tent is a great tent. I have owned one for about 2 years now. They have a great look to them and the yellow always seems to bring some attention. There are a few benefits that are definitely worth mentioning to make sure you know what you are buying, before you buy it.
  1. There is no floor - Allows you to setup the tent without taking your gear out of the bed.
  2. Waterproof - Keeps the inside of the tent dry and the bed of the truck dry.
  3. Rear access window - Allows you to access the inside of your truck through the tent. (if you have a rear sliding window)
  4. Can be used with toolboxes.
  5. Comes with a stuff sack.
As you can see there are some positive benefits to the Adventure truck tent, however lets look at some of the downsides.
  1. There is no floor - Depending on how you look at it this may be a bad thing. Without a cot or any type of sleeping pad, you would end up sleeping directly on the bed of your truck.
  2. They only have 2 models so far - Not a lot to choose from.
  3. New company - They have only been around for a couple of years and don't have that much experience in the Truck Tent world.
  4. Website - They do have a website, but it lacks professionalism and is difficult to navigate through.
There are both good and bad things about the Adventure tent. The thing that impressed me the most was the ability to use it with a toolbox. There are a lot of campers out there that don't want to take the time to remove the toolbox from their bed just to set up their truck tent.

The Sportz by Napier truck tent as well is overall a very good tent. I have had one now for about 8 years. Here are some of the benefits of the Sportz Truck Tent.
  1. Older Company - They have had over a decade of experience and know what they are doing.
  2. Multiple Products - Napier currently has three different models of truck tents: Original truck tent, truck tent II, truck tent III, SUV tent, and the motorcycle tent. They also offer their tents in camouflage.
  3. Built in floor -Sewn in polyethylene floor.
  4. Space - The truck tent III has 6 feet of headroom.
  5. Popularity - They have hundreds of dealers which causes for competitive prices and lots of options.
  6. Will not work with a toolbox.
Both are great companies and have great products. The determining factor of which one you should choose is what your needs are. If you have a cot or a toolbox then the obvious choice is the adventure truck tent. If you are going to be sleeping without a pad or are looking for variety then the Sportz truck tent is the one to go with. Happy shopping!

It's finally here!!!

The SUV tent by Napier is now in stock. Dealers now have complete access to all SUV tents and are able to ship it to you as quickly as possible. The weight has been long and there are a lot of people waiting to get there hands on one. My bet is that year Napier will be more prepared for the high demand. I know I would.

This just in....

We just received information that Sportz by Napier will be shipping out the Sportz SUV full size and midsize tents starting the 3rd week of July. Apparently they have been waiting for a shipment to come in from their supplier overseas and distributors will be able to supply them on a first come first serve basis. Thank goodness!

Looking for the SUV tent?

As many of you know, it has been nearly impossible to find the Sportz SUV tent by Napier. As it turns out, they seem to be running a little low on stock and as a result their dealers are unable to produce.

I would have to say that of all of the research that I have done, the Sportz SUV tent is the best one on the market, however there is another company called Texsport that does offer a very similar SUV tent. For all of you campers out there dying to get your hands on an SUV tent, this may be your chance.

Check it out!

It begins....

About 8 years ago I was reading through Summit Magazine and I came across the Sportz Truck Tent by Napier. It was the first one I had ever seen and it absolutely fascinated me. I had never seen one before and I knew I had to get one. I jumped at the opportunity and bought one as soon as I possibly could.

After my first camping trip I was immediately hooked. It was easy to setup, easy to take down, came in a small duffel bag, and I was the envy of everyone at the campsite. It also happened to rain incredibly hard that night which was no concern of mine because I was about 3 feet off the ground and covered by a rain fly. I knew that I would never spend the night in a normal tent again.

Over the years I have researched quite a bit about the Sportz truck tent as well as some of their competitors such as the Enel Adventure truck tent, the Autohome tent and the Texsport SUV tent as well as a few others. I have slept in many of these different truck tents and have even been involved in the retail end of some of them.

All the posting on this blog will help you to learn which is the best and what, where and how to buy a truck tent. Feel free to post your comments!
