Sportz or Adventure?

By far the two most competitive truck tents out on the market right now are the Enel Adventure Truck Tent and the Napier Sportz Truck Tent. Both are high quality products and provide for an excellent camping experience. But what are the differences? Why would one be better than the other?

The Enel Adventure truck tent is a great tent. I have owned one for about 2 years now. They have a great look to them and the yellow always seems to bring some attention. There are a few benefits that are definitely worth mentioning to make sure you know what you are buying, before you buy it.
  1. There is no floor - Allows you to setup the tent without taking your gear out of the bed.
  2. Waterproof - Keeps the inside of the tent dry and the bed of the truck dry.
  3. Rear access window - Allows you to access the inside of your truck through the tent. (if you have a rear sliding window)
  4. Can be used with toolboxes.
  5. Comes with a stuff sack.
As you can see there are some positive benefits to the Adventure truck tent, however lets look at some of the downsides.
  1. There is no floor - Depending on how you look at it this may be a bad thing. Without a cot or any type of sleeping pad, you would end up sleeping directly on the bed of your truck.
  2. They only have 2 models so far - Not a lot to choose from.
  3. New company - They have only been around for a couple of years and don't have that much experience in the Truck Tent world.
  4. Website - They do have a website, but it lacks professionalism and is difficult to navigate through.
There are both good and bad things about the Adventure tent. The thing that impressed me the most was the ability to use it with a toolbox. There are a lot of campers out there that don't want to take the time to remove the toolbox from their bed just to set up their truck tent.

The Sportz by Napier truck tent as well is overall a very good tent. I have had one now for about 8 years. Here are some of the benefits of the Sportz Truck Tent.
  1. Older Company - They have had over a decade of experience and know what they are doing.
  2. Multiple Products - Napier currently has three different models of truck tents: Original truck tent, truck tent II, truck tent III, SUV tent, and the motorcycle tent. They also offer their tents in camouflage.
  3. Built in floor -Sewn in polyethylene floor.
  4. Space - The truck tent III has 6 feet of headroom.
  5. Popularity - They have hundreds of dealers which causes for competitive prices and lots of options.
  6. Will not work with a toolbox.
Both are great companies and have great products. The determining factor of which one you should choose is what your needs are. If you have a cot or a toolbox then the obvious choice is the adventure truck tent. If you are going to be sleeping without a pad or are looking for variety then the Sportz truck tent is the one to go with. Happy shopping!

It's finally here!!!

The SUV tent by Napier is now in stock. Dealers now have complete access to all SUV tents and are able to ship it to you as quickly as possible. The weight has been long and there are a lot of people waiting to get there hands on one. My bet is that year Napier will be more prepared for the high demand. I know I would.

This just in....

We just received information that Sportz by Napier will be shipping out the Sportz SUV full size and midsize tents starting the 3rd week of July. Apparently they have been waiting for a shipment to come in from their supplier overseas and distributors will be able to supply them on a first come first serve basis. Thank goodness!
